From One Maybach to a Growing Luxury Brand
Energetic Exotics and its founders, Marlon and Jessica Wentworth, were featured in the Miami Herald in a story exploring their journey from investing their savings into a single luxury vehicle to building a growing exotic car rental and concierge business serving Florida.
For Marlon, the story has particularly deep roots in Miami. Growing up in Carol City, his experience of the city was very different from the image many visitors associate with Miami today. It wasn’t until his career in logistics took him around the country that he began to recognize how strongly people elsewhere associated Miami with sunshine, luxury, and exotic cars.
That realization eventually helped inspire what would become Energetic Exotics.
Building Energetic Exotics
In 2019, Marlon and Jessica took a significant step toward turning that idea into a business. After speaking with a car broker, the couple invested their retirement savings into a Mercedes-Benz Maybach S600, becoming the first luxury vehicle in the Energetic Exotics fleet.
Launching shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic presented an immediate challenge. The company adapted with more cautious operations and contactless services, allowing the Wentworths to continue building the business through an uncertain period.
Their different professional backgrounds also helped shape the company. Marlon brought years of logistics experience, while Jessica’s background in customer service contributed to the high-touch approach that has become an important part of the Energetic Exotics experience.
More Than Exotic Cars
Five years after its launch, Energetic Exotics had expanded considerably from its first Maybach. The company’s growing fleet included luxury and exotic vehicles from brands such as Lamborghini and Ferrari, while its services had expanded beyond vehicle rentals to include concierge services and security.
The Miami Herald feature also highlighted the range of occasions that bring customers to Energetic Exotics. From weddings and proms to business meetings and special experiences, clients use the company’s vehicles for moments where the journey and arrival become part of the occasion.
For the Wentworth family, cars have also become something of a family passion. Marlon and Jessica shared that their son Zachary has developed an impressive knowledge of the vehicles in the company’s fleet.
Giving Back and Looking Ahead
The feature goes beyond the growth of the business, exploring Marlon’s connection to his Miami roots and his desire to use his success to create opportunities for others.
His experiences growing up have motivated him to mentor young people and support initiatives such as sponsoring a marching band in Tampa. His message to young people is centered around investing in themselves, believing in their potential, and recognizing that there are many paths to success beyond the ones they may traditionally see represented.
Looking ahead, Marlon and Jessica shared ambitions to take Energetic Exotics beyond its Florida presence. Their longer-term vision includes national expansion, followed eventually by opportunities to bring the brand to an international audience.
What began with one Maybach has grown into a luxury automotive and concierge brand with much larger ambitions — while maintaining the connection to Miami that helped inspire it in the first place.
