From One Maybach to a Luxury Services Brand
Energetic Exotics was featured in Miami Weekly in a story exploring how founders Marlon and Jessica Wentworth identified a gap in Tampa Bay's luxury services market and transformed that opportunity into a growing automotive and lifestyle brand.
The feature traces the company's beginnings back to Marlon's move from Miami to Tampa Bay. Having grown accustomed to seeing high-end vehicles and luxury services throughout his hometown, he quickly noticed that Tampa offered far fewer options for customers looking for comparable experiences.
Together, Marlon and Jessica decided to address that gap themselves.
Investing in the Vision
Building Energetic Exotics required a significant personal commitment from the beginning.
Marlon and Jessica invested much of their retirement savings into purchasing a Mercedes-Maybach, which became the foundation of the business. Initially, the vehicle was offered for both rentals and chauffeur services.
Rather than stopping with a single luxury vehicle, the couple used that early momentum to continue developing their concept. Their goal was to create an accessible luxury service capable of combining premium vehicles with exceptional customer experiences.
As demand increased, so did the fleet and the range of services offered by Energetic Exotics.
Growing Beyond Luxury Car Rentals
At the time of the Miami Weekly feature, Energetic Exotics had grown to offer a fleet of approximately 20 vehicles across its operations, with options from brands including Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Corvette, Land Rover, and Jeep.
Clients could choose between daily, weekly, and monthly rentals, while chauffeur services extended to weddings, graduations, proms, film productions, security requirements, special events, and everyday transportation.
But the Wentworths' vision wasn't limited to cars.
The company had also expanded into broader luxury experiences, offering access to vacation retreats, private aviation, and yacht rentals. This evolution helped position Energetic Exotics as more than an exotic car rental company, with the business moving toward a wider luxury lifestyle and concierge offering.
Building Through Risk and Resilience
The Miami Weekly feature also highlights the entrepreneurial mindset behind the company's growth.
For Marlon, resilience has been essential to navigating the challenges that come with building a new business. Equally important has been the willingness to take calculated risks — something he and Jessica demonstrated from the moment they committed their own retirement savings to launching the company.
Rather than following a conventional path, they developed relationships with businesses across the luxury ecosystem, including hotels, Airbnbs, and yacht providers.
Those partnerships allowed Energetic Exotics to offer clients a more complete experience while creating a foundation for continued growth.
Making Luxury More Accessible
At the center of the company's philosophy is an ambition to make premium experiences available to a broader audience.
Instead of treating luxury exclusively as a product, Marlon and Jessica have focused on the moments surrounding it — from arriving at a wedding in a Rolls-Royce to experiencing an exotic vehicle for a special occasion or incorporating premium transportation into a larger Florida getaway.
That approach has helped Energetic Exotics develop from its beginnings with one Maybach into a company serving clients across Tampa Bay and Miami.
A Bigger Vision for Energetic Exotics
Despite the company's growth, Marlon and Jessica see Florida as the starting point rather than the final destination.
Their longer-term ambition is to take Energetic Exotics into additional markets across the United States and, eventually, establish the brand internationally.
The Miami Weekly feature captures the entrepreneurial story behind that ambition: two founders who recognized an underserved market, invested heavily in their vision, and continued expanding the definition of what Energetic Exotics could offer.
What began as a luxury vehicle rental service is steadily developing into a broader platform centered around vehicles, transportation, travel, and curated luxury experiences.
